About the Program
Spend two unforgettable weeks discovering China through language, culture and travel. The Asia Pathway China Summer School begins in Beijing, combining structured Mandarin study with a full schedule of cultural activities, city exploration and an unforgettable weekend trip.
Students receive 15 group Chinese morning lessons from Monday to Friday. Afternoons and evenings may include Chinese painting, calligraphy, knot-making, paper-cutting, Chinese poker, stamp carving, mask painting, mahjong, dumpling-making, table tennis and badminton.
Excursions may include the Temple of Heaven, Forbidden City, Summer Palace, Confucius Temple, Great Wall, Tian'anmen Square, Beijing hutongs, Wangfujing, Sanlitun, Beihai Park, Olympic Center, museums, Beijing Zoo and the National Centre for the Performing Arts. The exact schedule and activities may vary.
The journey extends beyond Beijing with an included weekend trip to Xi'an by high-speed train. Students experience historic landmarks, local culture and modern city life in both Beijing and Xi'an.
The full-camp package includes airport pickup and airport see-off, 14 nights of accommodation, breakfast, lunch and dinner, the complete weekday day-camp program, Mandarin classes, afternoon cultural lessons and field trips, evening city activities, the Xi'an trip, 24-hour student support, selected sports and recreation, and local food experiences such as Beijing duck and hot pot.
